About Our Osteoporosis Consultations

Dr. Hausman-Cohen is a member of the National Osteoporosis Foundation and has completed over 100 hours of additional medical education course work and reading in the field of osteoporosis.

She also acts as a national speaker in the field of osteoporosis. If you or someone you care about has had bone loss or a fracture, know that when a consult is done through our office you will not just be handed a prescription for a medication, but will be involved in a full discussion of how the various medications for osteoporosis and bone health work and what makes sense for you. Appropriate evaluations for causes of osteoporosis and bone loss such as checking for problems with vitamin D levels, metabolic, and absorption abnormalities will be done and a detailed report will be sent to other doctors participating in your care. As we allow more time for consults than standard visits, please let our receptionist know if you are coming in for a full osteoporosis consult.

Healthy Eating

Eating healthy is important to overall health and wellness. Recently Dr. Hausman-Cohen, along with personal chef Leah Grace Rizzo, taught a healthy easy cooking class series using recipes from hers and Dr. Weston’s kitchens. We have now posted the recipes we prepared and shared at this class series on our website. If you are looking for easy recipes or expanding your healthy cooking repertoire then you may want to check these out. They can be found on our new recipe page
