SHARON
HAUSMAN-COHEN, M.D.
Dr. Sharon Hausman-Cohen obtained both her Masters degree and Medical
degree from Harvard Medical School. One thing she loves about being a
physician is that it allows her to combine her interests in research
and evidence-based medicine with the human and compassionate, but less
scientific "art of medicine". As a family physician she enjoys taking
care of all ages, from newborns to seniors. Her training in
dermatological, gynecological and orthopedic procedures, as well as
allergy, endocrincology and other specialties allows you to have most
of your health care needs met without leaving her office. She also has a strong interest in alternative and complementary medicine which she shares with the practice as a whole.

Laurelin graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with her Bachelors of

nephrology/neurology unit at North Austin Medical center and in the
pediatric emergency department at Brackenridge Hospital. In 2000 she
returned to UT for her Masters of Science in Nursing and certification
as a Family Nurse Practitioner, receiving awards for academic
excellence. She enjoys working with patients of all ages, and
especially cherishes the rapport that develops over the years between
patients and their providers in the specialty of family medicine. She
and Dr. Hausman-Cohen have been working as a team since 2002.
Laurelin has a particular interest in diabetes and high cholesterol and has worked with our patients to get them to outstanding control of these risk factors and has often helped patients not only manage but also sometimes "reverse" these diseases |

CHARIS BEARDEN, FAMILY NURSE PRACTICIONER
Charis recently
rejoined our practice. She comes to us with a wealth of different experiences. Prior to becoming a board certified nurse practitioner, she enjoyed a long and varied nursing career, including six years in the Air Force. She has worked in surgery, family medicine, and intensive care nursing; her first job as a nurse practitioner was working in an Ear, Nose and Throat specialty office. She joined our health care team so she could use her full spectrum of family medicine skills and work with patients of all ages, helping them to plan and achieve their healthcare goals. |

KOREN WESTON, M.D.
Dr. Koren Weston is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She joined our practice in 2009 and has expanded our ability to provide excellent care for patients young and old.
Dr. Weston obtained her medical degree from UTMB in Galveston in 1998. She then went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
As an internist who also worked as a hospitalist for a number of years, she has extensive hospital experience and training in addition to her outpatient training. Her expertise in the more critically ill patient has helped us to better manage our senior population as well as our younger patients.
She enjoys helping individuals of all ages obtain and maintain their health, from birth through senior years. She is dedicated to our offices model of staying current on advances in medicine and engaging the patient in their care. Patients who have had a visit with her have told us they particularly appreciate her calm manner and great listening skills.
